Pierre Bonnard's Violet Countryside - Framed Vintage Artwork

$86.00

Pierre Bonnard studied painting at l’École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he helped form the Nabis group with fellow art students. They passionately took up the painting ideals of Gauguin for nearly a decade, until 1900 struck. Then, Bonnard shifted his painting style to reflect Impressionism. His time spent in the countryside surrounding Paris flourished with violets and other distinct colors of this painting epoch.

This vintage French postcard illustrates the 1918 Pierre Bonnard oil painting, Paysage violet à Vernonnet. Sent to a mysterious Monsieur Jean Favre in Lyon in March, 1995.

Custom varnished walnut frame made in France set with a double, finely-textured, acid-free matting and anti-reflection plexiglass.

Frame dimensions: 8.5 × 7 × 0.5 inches

Shipped directly from my home in the Basque Country in southwestern France.
